Listening to the back and forth on earmarks, ideology, and much else, it occurs to me that there are really two different ways in which voters try to evaluate politicians: the record and the person. Judging a politician by his past voting record seems the obvious policy—what he does, not what he says. But it isn't all that clear that it is the right policy. The voting record, after all, reflects not only, perhaps not mainly, the policy preferences the politician actually holds. Politicians have to get elected and reelected, and that means that, to a considerable extent, they have to take the positions that will get people to vote for them, and donate money to their campaigns, and work for their campaigns. I suspect the result is that two politicians who are, say, governors of Alaska, will in many respects have similar policies, even if they are from different parties and different ideological backgrounds. So will two politicians who are state senators from the south side of Chicago. If an ex-state senator from the south side is running against a governor of Alaska, they will have very different records in terms of what they supported and what they voted for. Gun control is a lot more popular in Chicago than in Alaska, hunting a lot more popular in Alaska than in Chicago. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Write them on the door frames of your houses and on your gates, so that your days and the days of your children may be many in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors, as many as the days that the heavens are above the earth. Before Douglas was born, Bessie and I decided that if one of us corrected a child, that correction would not be contradicted by the other. The children would never see a difference between us. We would not differ with one another in front of the children. We were heavy on love, not legalism. And obviously, doing work in a multi-state territory is going to require an expedient way to get from one retail shop to another. At least for face-to-face relations. But what about folks that live in cities? Well, even then you run into obstacles. Dan had a great example where a couple, strapped for employment, had to find jobs in different cities, which made for a decision to live in a town in between the two jobs. The distance is too great to make cycling a practical choice for them. Ruthy here. Yup. The bossy one. The snark. So there are clues. Its a game of gap ups and down. Maybe I'll give this a try and report back to you in the near future.

Her brother Branwell was also employed there for some of that time.

The people and surroundings inspired literary work by both of them. Start at the walk interpretation panel on Great Ouseburn Village Hall. Follow the route shown by the green way markers. Be aware that Thorpe Green Lane can be busy at the start and end of the school day. Walk along Main Street to St Mary’s Church. Two of the Grand girls play Ice Hockey. Savannah is a Senior this year and Paige is a Freshman. They are both on the Varsity team. Last night was their first game. Savannah and Paige in the players box. Paige on the ice, she got some ice time or “reps” …you can tell I do not know the finer points of Hockey. I watch for the girls to jump out of the players box and then I see what kind of photos I can get. Paige and the puck. Get the look. The tree is up. but just the tree and it's lights. not so many ornaments yet. I found this box at an Antique Shop. I thought is was an interesting box. it had a foreign flavor to it. Inside was this ornament, which is now hung on my tree! What does it say? Yes, that was my thought exactly. I asked everyone in the Antique Shop if they spoke or read any foreign languages. while members of the B-B-E coaching staff earned Section honors today at LP-GE high school. What a makeover! I'm in love. Please link directly to your post and not just to your blog. A big collection for your Wednesday morning. Well.

I can say it's not our friend in Alberta.

So I'll say it here. I stand by what I said. One of my earliest memories is of my country grandmother doing the washing on Monday morning. The copper would be filled with water and when it was boiling like a witch's cauldron, she'd add the washing. It would bubble away for what seemed like forever and then it was put through the wringer until it resembled flat boards! She would then hang it out on the old wire clothes line where it spent the day in the sunshine and breeze. At sunset it was brought in, folded and put into the ancient linen cupboard.

Every time I open my linen cupboard I can smell her cupboard full of sunshine and lavender.

bliss!.

twentytwowords. boredpanda. I am writing this piggybacking on a neighbours interwebs which makes for an entirely new experience in speed!! I did want to say how sorry I was to read about the passing of Eliza last week, such a lovely lady and it has been a privilege to 'know' her and her cute little Yoda cat, from our desk visits with WOYWW and T on Tuesday. She will be sadly missed by all and my heart goes out to her family and friends at this sad time. I don't think there has ever been such a gap on my blog. Observation:Ecclesiastes is a book that analyzes the ways of man. It shows what ways are folly and what ways are beneficial. Here, the author demonstrates wisdom by saying that a dull axe works, buts makes the work harder. With a sharp axe, you don't have to work as hard. It pays to take the time to sharpen the axe and use wisdom. Application:I am definitely one for swinging a dull axe really hard and for a long time. I don't like to break from the work to sharpen tools, even though sharpening them will cause production to move faster. I tend to be a workhorse who just keeps plowing and doesn't take a break to make things easier. I need to slow down, think and use wisdom instead of just pressing harder in some areas of my life. Hi, it's Gaylynn here. This is a reminder that the current stamp of the week, Twinkles & Wings, is ending Saturday night. Every Sunday begins a new sotw. Sentiment: Twinkle twinkle little star, brave & beautiful is what you are. For this card, I duplicated the birds and gave them tiny dots as accents. This is a wonderful encouragement stamp set. I made this card with more of a breast cancer theme in pink. I had the pleasure of attending three quilt shows in three days! On Friday and Sunday, I went to the Flights and Fantasies show at the New England Quilt Museum. Karen and I went on Friday, then I went back on Sunday with my husband and my mother to pick up my quilt. I was thrilled that Karen Griska posted about my quilt on the Selvage Blog. It's her fault that I started collecting selvages! Sue Reich displayed several botanical quilts from her collection of antique quilts. This Daisy quilt from c. Will and I met up at Out Rawcliffe this morning hoping for another decent catch of warblers to boost the already good numbers for the year. Even this morning the rain and cloud of the past three days still hung over the moss as patches of drizzle and rain headed inland towards Bowland where the low cloud obscured the topmost fells. Recaptures: One each of Goldfinch, Dunnock, Whitethroat, Willow Warbler, Chiffchaff and Blackbird. Simple things make a big difference, says Olivia Newton-John. WHICH WAS YOUR BEST HOLIDAY? And most likely, the conclusion of all your research is:There is no real cure for TMJ. The only thing doctors can do is give out strong pain relief medicines or muscle relaxation drugs.

There is nothing else they can do.

All these medicines fail. Even if they reduce the pain a little for a while in the beginning, they'll stop working little by little as your body gets immune to them.
