I can now upload pics of M and I! Last week we went to get frozen yogurt. This week I went to her softball game - her team name is Orange Crush. Their colors are blue and orange. Her coach is an AU fan. Hence, the reason for the auburn like colors - which is probably why her team is undefeated. Bam! After her game we went to CiCi's. They have a mac n cheese pizza. It was kind of amazing.
NOAA researchers at the Alaska Fisheries Science Center Behavioral Ecology Laboratory in Newport, Oregon, conducted experiments to explore how temperature mediates growth and energy allocation in newly settled red king crab juveniles.Crabs molted more frequently in warmer temperatures and had a greater increase in size with each molt. All crab treatments had high proportions of essential fatty acids, suggesting that rapid growth does not negatively affect condition in juvenile red king crab. Data provided by this study will help to model temperature-dependent growth and recruitment in the field, and suggest optimal temperatures for growth of juvenile king crabs intended for rehabilitation of depleted red king crab stocks. pics elvs love my beautiful magnolia branches in the awesome paper bag from be-pôles simple can be so beautiful. Gina tatted these Bloomin" Shamrocks in time for St Patrick's day.Fraudulant hospice enrollment is a uniquely dangerous practice, yet the latest cases of it have, as usual, attracted little attention. Background As we have discussed before, hospice care was initially designed to provide more humane treatment of the terminally ill, particularly patients with advanced cancer. The idea was that rather than subjecting such patients to futile, but often painful or dangerous treatment, they would receive humane, palliative care. But since Medicare pays for hospice care fairly well, for-profit corporations soon got into the act. As we have discussed previously, some hospices, often but not always for-profit, began to admit patients who were not terminally ill. The danger is that hospice care specifically excludes potentially curative care, such as antibiotics for infection or surgery for appendicitis. So if a patient who is not terminal is in hospice and that patient develops severe bacterial pneumonia, that patient may not get antibiotics and thus may die of a potentially curable disease. In various posts here we have detailed particular cases of non-terminal patients admitted to hospice who later died, seemingly of the neglect of treatable illness mandated by the concept of hospice care. There have also been cases in which patients with chronic pain, but no terminal illness, may have died from hospice's overly aggressive use of narcotics. ' He did, however, have some chronic back pain, and in late March he was enrolled in hospice care 'essentially for pain management,' his doctor said. Over a two week period, he received rising doses of morphine and other powerful drugs, grew sleepy and disoriented, and stopped breathing, dying peacefully at home, according to his family and medical records they provided. The Latest UnitedHealth/ Optum Case The latest case of allegations of fraudulant hospice enrollment involved a very big, very profitable corporation. Three little tops, no relationship to each other but they're too nice not to feature. I'm thinking baby kick flares and wedge sandals in the summer. Oh yeahhhhh. ADF&G photoI've been remiss this week in not mentioning the ongoing Togiak herring fishery. The state’s biggest sac roe herring harvest occurs each May near the remote Bristol Bay village of Togiak. Here Murray is holding her hand out for a picture while she's asleep on me. Others will first note that he was the husband of Jayne Mansfied and the father of Mariska Hargitay. Fans of bodybuilding will remember that he was MR. Mickey Hargitay was called a "magnificent individual" in a tribute by Gov. Arnold who credited him as an "inspiration" in that Hargitay was an unknown immigrant who made good in the worlds of international body culture and Hollywood. The shoulder was feeling good this morning so I decided to put aside the Halloween quilt for a day and get back to putting borders on a couple of quilt-tops that were soooo close to being finished. Now I don't know about you but borders are a huge decision point for me. and for decision point read "repeatedly pull fabric from the stash, audition in various rooms, go get coffee, take a photo, drink more coffee, email a friend, drink coffee, call friend who hasn't responded to email, when call goes to messaging get more coffee and decide to move onto next quilttop. " Oh dear is right!I think Borders are major design elements of a quilt. Unfortunately the decision I make when the quilt is in the planning stage and what I end up doing are usually two very different things. To an opponent, tolerance. To a friend, your heart. To a customer, service. To all, charity. To every child, a good example. To yourself, respect. Restful and relaxing. Order of appearance.
